“Starting my recruitment career in 2005, I learnt my trade as a recruitment consultant within the technical division at one the of the UK’s leading employment agencies. Having progressed to become Branch Manager, I made the brave move to set up a new agency with another vastly experienced recruiter to specifically cater for the technical market place. Over the years I have been successful in varied markets but specialise within engineering, manufacturing, power generation, utilities and facilities management sectors making apprentice to director level appointments on a global basis.

“After graduating in Marketing at Staffordshire University in 2000, I returned to my home City of Nottingham and quickly started work in new media sales selling websites and web promotion UK wide. I enjoyed dealing with a multitude of businesses and was fascinated by how they were positioned in their market, how they manufactured their products or delivered their service, who their clients included and also the types of staff they employed to be who they were. From here the transition to working in recruitment was the best obvious step for me.

I now have over ten years’ experience in recruitment having started from an entry level recruiter and quickly progressing to a senior management role for one of the UK’s leading recruitment businesses. I was responsible for training and developing consultants as well as proactively working as a skilled recruiter within technical, engineering and construction sectors, reporting to the board.

After a successful career of nine years with this agency, I was inspired by them to follow an ambition to set up my own recruitment business with a colleague who worked alongside me for 5 years.
